This year, more people than ever are working from home, some for the first time. That is why Jodie Brenton and the Life Resolutions team have compiled some advice for those who have found their kitchen table becoming their new home office.
Jodie Brenton on Working From Home
- Schedule and Routine – Although it may be tempting to jump up in the morning and get straight on the computer, it is more important than ever to eat a healthy breakfast and take a moment to prioritise your day. Similarly, silence your phone before bed and remember that working from home does not mean you have to answer your emails at midnight.
- Prioritising Tasks– Take time to write down your intentions for each day, in order of priority. This can help keep you from getting flustered at midday when you realise you have not done anything you set out to do.
- Breaks– Being cooped up at your desk for eight hours straight will not improve your productivity. Take regular short breaks to stretch and have a glass of water and remember that your lunch hour is just as crucial as ever.
- Seek Support–The COVID-19 pandemic has had a broad range of effects on our mental health and wellness, and if you are struggling, it is important to reach out for help. Our team of mental health professionals at Life Resolutionsare here to support you through whatever is going on in your life.
